Answers:
That is edamame, a fancy name for a type of soybean that is often served and eaten in Japanese restaurants!. They are available in groceries now, especially in Oriental ones!. They are sold frozen and all you have to do is throw it in boiling water with some salt for a few minutes!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

We call them broad beans!. When they are young, you can eat the pods apparently, though I never have!.
When they have light green skins, you can eat them, and when they are older and gray!.
When they are getting even older it pays to peel the skins off also!.

Overcooking and old beans make the skin like leather!.

They are seasonal so try the freezers at the market!.

In the Middle East they are called Fava Beans!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

Well there green and you only have 2-3 beans per pod will rule out soybeans of any type because there are more beans than that in one pod !.
The other that is similar , but the beans are about the same size would be mung beans they never have more than 4 beans per pod and are quite priceyWww@FoodAQ@Com

Those are soy beans, they are called "Edimame" in Japanese/Sushi restaurants!. They usually are steamed and salted, and are served warm!. They are super tasty and super nutritious!Www@FoodAQ@Com

It's edamame! I used to eat those all the time!.!. You can get them in wal-mart on the frozen isle where all the other beans and corn are!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
