Going to a thai restaurant!. What is the best meal to get if I am on a dietWww@FoodAQ@Com

Answers:
Riced noodles are definitely not a "low calorie" food, and on top of that the noodle dishes in Thai restaurants are cooked with liberal amounts of oil!. I don't think that Pad Thai would bust your diet if you shared it with a few people, but if you want to get a dish that you can get on your own, there are better options!. Tom Yum soup (you can get it most places with shrimp, chicken or just veggies) is an excellent choice!. Avoid Tom Kha, as it has coconut milk!. Some salads are good choices!. Most Thai salads are dressed with a light sauce, but be wary of those dressed with peanut sauce!. One I like is called Yum Woon Sen!. It has soy noodles mixed with lettuce, chicken breast, shrimp, red onion, and a tangy dressing!. Curries are not a good choice for someone on a diet either, as they contain full-fat coconut milk!. Most Thai restaurants I've visited also have a section of the menu devoted to stir fry!. This is where you'll find your best options, probably!. One of my favorites is Thai basil stir fried with bamboo shoots, peppers and onions (and meat of your choice)!. At the restaurant I go to most often, it's called "Spicy Basil," I think the Thai name is "Ka Pow!." With brown rice, that makes a quite healthy meal!Www@FoodAQ@Com

If you're on a diet, then a noodle-dish isn't really for the carb-conscious, but luckily for you, there are a lot of Thai dishes that are low in fat and carbs, like:

Yum Neau: Grilled beef salad with a dressing made from limes, fish sauce, chili, and rice powder

Laarb: Basically the same thing as Yum Neau but with ground chicken instead

Tom yum Goong: a popular hot and sour thai soup made with lemongrass, galangal, thai chili paste, and shrimpWww@FoodAQ@Com

It is Thai food overall is one of the most healthy asian foods, it is not cooked in fatty oils, and the vegetables are not over cooked either, so they retain their vitamins, and the great crunch that is so associated with Thai foodWww@FoodAQ@Com
