Can you buy black tapioca balls in sydney??!


Question: Can you buy black tapioca balls in sydney!?!?
i want to make my own pearl milk tea at home!. i go to sydney a couple of times a month but i need more bubble tea!!!!! does anyone know if you can buy the balls raw/dry from a shop!? i have only been able to find them on american sites but its way expensive!!! have u ever seen them in any suburbs near flemmington!? or in china town!. thanks heaps if anyone can help meWww@FoodAQ@Com

The large pearl tapioca used for bubble tea or boba tea, is white, it is coloured to a darker shade by cooking it in a black tea solution so what you do it take 4 or 5 tea bags, steep them in a pot of water with a 1/2 cup of sugar, remove the tea bags, bring the tea back to the boil and add the tapioca balls and cook until done, you test them like pasta!. Then cool the balls and keep them in a bit of the solution this will keep them from drying out!.

You can find them in th Chinese or Malay stores, not expensive, I get them here in Canada for $1 a kilo!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

I have not seen or heard of a shop in sydney that sells them! But there is a great site online that I buy from that sells the pearls at a good price in big bags!. FYI, It is an American site!. They sell them for 7 US$ which is about 4 AUS$
