No - I dont believe it is due to a couple of reasons!.
you dont know the condition of the kitchen (particuarly in takeaway places)
they probably add msg food enhancing - even if they say they dont
and you dont really know what is in it!?
They would have more of a resistance to the way they cook their chicken - how it hangs outside usually before used!.
When ever I used to have chinese takeaway or other takeaways for that matter, I never slept well and if asleep had nad dreams ( a sign of msg)
Look up on the search, there are so many 1000's chinese recipes, quick and easy, I'd make my own!. average cook time 10minutes for most!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

No!. Chinese food is usually not healthy in a restaurant regardless of whether you eat there or take it home!. Greasy, salty, yuk! But chinese cuisine can be quite healthy if you prepare it yourself!. The catch to that is it sometimes requires alot of prep time, but if you've got the time it is well worth the effort!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
If I get real Chinese food, usually Cantonese food, it can be super healthy - steamed or stir fried greens, tofu, congee, steamed fish, soups, that kind of thing!.
If you mean American garbage like Panda Express or Ho Lee Chow, then no!. Just like all American fast food, it's greasy, salty, full of msg and made from crappy ingredients!.Www@FoodAQ@Com

I think Chinese food can be very healthy, it depends on your choices!. You can also opt for no msg which negates some of the usual complaints about it's health factor!.
I do think that while they have a lot of fried foods, if you have a good balance of foods, you can eat it without gaining weight!. i can guarantee that if i ate fried rice and sweet and sour chicken 4-5 times a week that i'd gain weight!. there are so many factors, were they late meals!? did their habits change!? i remember when i was a party girl, i used to go to late night breakfast places after going dancing!. it wasn't a problem until i stopped dancing and still continued eating out :0( on the other hand, if you switched it up a bit, ordering some sauteed greens, tofu dish, steamed dumplings, soup!.!.!.it's all about balance, yin and yang!. If you really look at a typical chinese menu, there is a considerable amount of vegetables in proportion to the meat!.
As for the cooking, using the high heats that they do for stir frying (what most chinese food is cooked like) , they use a lot less oil and fat because the woks are already well seasoned so a little goes a long way!. Comparing chinese food takeout to a breaded and fried dish at what i consider not authentic chinese ( am not a huge fan because for me texture is huge and i don't like any breading to be sitting in sauce!. i like the crispy breading with the sauce!. There are so many great choices over General Tso's chicken, just order a variety, watch the starches like rice, make sure you have more vegetable dishes vs!. meat dishes!.
I also believe that eating food with chiles in it is good for your health, people that eat spicy foods definitely benefit from the properties like capsaicin in the peppers!.
Just like the Supersize me guy, you can go and make good choices, we all just tend to gravitate to our childhood favorites :o)Www@FoodAQ@Com
