mainly after the second world war , plus a lot of prisoners of war were detained , in places like newcastle, and never went back to italy , if you are up on your history you would be aware that japanese p!.o!.w `s were stationed at cowra, after the war a lot of italians migrated to aust!.and were housed in quonson huts at greta , a suburb of newcastle ,and were employed, locally,in the restaurants ,vineyards,etc!. there way of life was very quickly rubbed off on the aust!. way of life!.Www@FoodAQ@Com
