what are the crunchy things on pizza crust?!
the tiny little crunchy things. what are they, i wonder? pizza crust would not be the same without them. yet i cannot taste them really. some are yellow. some are a pale beige. are they purely utilitarian? do they serve some higher purpose? with their crispins and their crunchins. will i ever know the origin of such an illusive gastronomical delight? will i be left to ponder the mysteries of purposes so denied my woe begotten soul?

Cornmeal
~The Fat Man
Probably little baked bits of grated Parmesan or Romano cheese.
More: Ah, then Miss Libby is correct, it is cornmeal.
Are you talking about cornmeal? Parmesan cheese? Romano?
corn meal...it adds texture PLUS allows the pizza to be easily slid off the oven, rack or stone
Burnt bits of cheese
cockroach parts.... ummmm.
