"Natural foods" are foods in their natural state that are minimally processed and do not contain any hormones, antibiotics, pesticides, sweeteners, food colors, or flavorings that were not originally in the food. Meat that's from an animal hunted in the wild is natural. Organic meat is natural. Fish caught in the water is natural. From a fish farm, no. Organic or fresh-picked fruits and veggies are natural, as long as no chemicals were used. Canned, packaged, frozen etc foods are NOT natural, some not by a long shot.

A natural food chef is a chef who only uses natural foods as primary ingredients. Some will only use natural ingredients down to the minutest details, such as the salt and sugar, but sometimes that's just impossible.

Not everyone agrees on what natural means, however. Many sea salts are promoted as natural salts, but there was a lot of processing in some cases between the time the salt was collected and what you see before you at the table. Honey is a natural sweetener, but some honey is pasteurized, not raw. Does that make it an unnatural food? Some even say that cooking something changes it from natural to unnatural.

If you want the healthiest natural food experience possible, eat fruit from the tree, veggies from an organic garden, and some sashimi (raw fish). Oh yeah, and milk straight from a wild buffalo!

A cook of all natural foods, duh.
