Okonomiyaki is Japanese savoury pancake containing a variety of ingredients but always been 'recognised' as Japanese Pizza too.
Yes, Japanese do eat pizza (Italian / American style) but they have also modified some flavors to suit their preferences.
Teriyaki Chicken / beef, Japanese style (Flavor of Seaweed and Shiso), Japanese curry, Wasabi seafood, Grilled Unagi with Shiitake mushroom are some of the flavors I know.
Not sure if they do like to make pizza at home though.
Pizza is very popular in Japan and Japan has some of the best Italian restaurants in the world producing fantastic pizza. Pizza is also a popular takeout option in Japan with many different pizza chains including Pizza Hut, Dominoes and Aoki`s Pizza. Some of the best pizza I have ever eaten has come from Japan including the incredible Teriyaki Chicken pizza with Japanese mayonnaise.

Pizza is an international dish.
What's weird and different is in Japan they use ingredients and flavors that are familiar to them.
Squid, fish eggs (roe), seaweed which is okay, but on a business trip, what freaked me out the most was the pizza had mayonnaise swirled/squirted onto the pizza.
That's Japanese style mayo, which is sweeter and has MSG.
The Japanese have been eating pizza's for more than 50 years. You will find that when it comes to food and fashion, the Japanese are even more knowledgeable than the typical American. Some of the best French, Italian, Indian, Korean, Chinese, and Spanish restaurants are found in the large cities of Japan.

In Japan, at home just warm by microwave oven and eat.
There is a sale of the oven for pizza for home, but it is a little expensive.

You obviously have not been to Japan. The Japanese eat pizza. In fact they've got some really funky and tasty toppings over there (Japanese mayonaise anyone?).
You really shouldn't stereotype.
