What does cooked pork blood smell like? bought some from an asian market.?!

I bought some cooked pork blood from an asian market today. It looks sort of like liver and they had it floating in a bucket of water behind a case in the meat section. When I brought it home and was going to come up with a way of preparing it I realized it had a funny almost off smell to it. Does anyone know if this is normal with this stuff. Thanks.
