What makes ginger spicy?!


Question: What makes ginger spicy?
I know the chemical capsicum in peppers is what makes them hot but what is it in ginger? My stomach can handle ginger just fine but anything remotely pepper hot and I get stomach upset.

The components of Ginger, is found in the "rhizomes" and the roots.
Ginger contains "capsaicin" as well!

Here's some facts of ginger and what it is made of:
Ginger is composed of various nutrinets and phytochemicals. The nutrients, listed alphabetically, are: Amino acids, calcium, essential fatty acids (EFA's), iron, magnesium, manganese, phosphorus, potassium, selenium, vitamin A, vitamin B-1, vitamin B-2, vitamin B-3, vitamin B-6, vitamin C, and zinc.

The Phytochemicals, listed alphabetically, are: Alpha-pinene, beta-carotene, beta-ionone, beta-sitosterol, caffeic acid, camphor, capsaicin, caryophllene, chlorogenic acid, citral, curcumin, farnesol, ferulic acid, geraniol, gingerols, lecithin, 1,8-cineole, and zingerone.
