For majority of the people who can't afford three-square meals a day, our food is Daal-Bhaat (Lintel and Rice) with some vegetable curry. Fish includes Puti, Tengra, Taki, Khalisha and Telapia fish. We also take small fish or chicken occasionally.

For middle-class family, we take Daal-Bhaat with chicken or fish curry. Fish includes Ruhi, Katla, Mrigel, Hilsa and Koi fish. Occasionally we take beef-curry or mutton-curry. Pillaw and Korma are prepared when entertaining guests.

Rich people take Daal-Bhaat with chicken or fish curry. Fish includes Salmon, Hilsa, Koral, Magur, Prawn, Lobster and Pangash (from river).

During marriage and such ceremonies people of all strata would prefer Pillaw and Korma/Rezala with Kabab and chicken roast with Burhani as drink side-by-side with mineral water or cold-drinks.

Rich people indulges with Fast food and parties where beer and alcoholic drinks are discreetly offered. Alcoholic drinks are not allowed except for the 'foreigners' and licence holding person who are medically advised or such certified, to have drinks are only allowed to possess and drink.

We do not have a single food as national food, at least officially.

National Fruit = Jackfruit
National Fish = Hilsa
These are official.

And the main food of Bangladeshi people is Rice.
They eat rice everyday with other different kind of items like beef, chicken, vegetable etc ...
