Why do people freeze bread?!

Question: Why do people freeze bread?
First off, who would ever want to eat frozen bread? it'd be all cold and soggy.

Answers:

Normally people buy several loaves of bread at a time especially if they are on sale. You usually keep one loaf out, and freeze the rest....this makes them last longer as bread has a very short shelf life. Freezing it makes it last longer.

You usually take a loaf out of the freezer before you want to eat it, and give it a chance to thaw. If you cannot wait until it thaws, you usually toast it.

Most people don't eat it frozen, if they do, that is weird.

If you freeze bread as soon as you buy it, it will stay that fresh for quite a long time. A person who lives alone, or two people living together, many times will not use up a loaf of bread before it goes stale. When you thaw frozen bread, the best way to do it is to put it in a plastic bag with a clothes pin or other closure and let it thaw at room temperature. It will be as fresh as the day you froze it. Putting it in the micro to thaw it gives you bread that will have hard spots in it. You can put frozen bread directly from the freezer into the toaster. This works especially well with raisin bread.

People freeze bread to make it stay fresh a little bit longer because it doesnt get bad as fast. I have some friends who just moved out and rent their own little cute apartments and since they live alone they wont ne ablte to eat all the bread before its bad. So they put a part in the freeze thn a little later they take it out and put it in the microwabe on the effect meant for freezed things do it doesnt get all cold and soggy its just as good

to keep it for extended periods of time
then keeping it IN THE SEALED CONTAINER let it defrost for about 24 hrs, until no visible water is on the container
then it tastes good and is warm
and of course you can toast it if you want but it does not need that

people freeze bread to keep it good for extended periods, usually buying it on sale

they thaw it out before they use it, which will stop it from being cold, but it can get very dry unless you thaw it properly.

if you freeze ready-sliced bread you can just drop a couple of slices direct from the freezer into the toaster to make toast - ideal for those who live alone or don't consume a lot of bread

We freeze bread in case we get snowed in for days.

It lasts longer and you can make yummy french toast with it.

They don't want to throw it away.
