Question about Nigerian Jollof Rice?!

Question: Question about Nigerian Jollof Rice?
I had to make jollof rice for one of my classes. It's a Nigerian dish. I have to do a little 2-4 sentence summary of kinda what it is to the Nigerian culture while I'm serving it to the class. So here are my questions:
1. Do Nigerians normally eat rice?
2. Is jollof rice a part of special meals, or everyday meals?

Please help (:

1. yes
2. What might be a typical Sunday lunch in Nigeria = Roast (or fried) chicken, Jollof rice and fried plantains.

This dish is common throughout West Africa and can be made with chicken, beef, goat or pork. It is almost a cross between a Red Jambalaya and a Chicken Creole.
