It's really as it says: the vegetable, for example Olives, are squeezed in a large press and the oil is realeased from the vegetable matter. It is then filtered to remove any bits. This is the best quality oil but they can then extract more oil by heating the pulp and after that they can get a low grade oil by using chemical solvents to extract the last bit of oil. These are then removed by evaporation and recycled.
