What is the name of this German dish?!


Question: What is the name of this German dish?
20 years ago, I was non-German-speaking tourist at a restaraunt in Berlin. After I ordered my dinner, I noticed a diner next to me with a big dish of food. Couldn't really tell what it was...it apeared to have a variety of components mixed into one big pile...and it had a deliciously sweet smell, like maybe it had cornbread in it. I always regretted not asking what it was an ordering it myself. Any idea what this dish might be called?
