Bento boxes: Don't they get ruined when tipped upside down in a bag?!

Question: Bento boxes: Don't they get ruined when tipped upside down in a bag?
How do the japanese bring them to work or school without them being ruined? I would like to make one one day.

Thanks.

Most Japanese Bento Boxes have lots of little compartments that keep the food separate and together. The Bento Box is also wrapped with a furoshiki (wrapping cloth), which keeps everything together and makes the Bento Box easy to carry.

Many of them are rigid or semi-rigid and wide on the bottom so not that easy to tip over. I think they're just careful to carry them that way, which shouldn't be too hard.

Also, sometimes the foods in a bento box are in little silicone cups/etc inside the box, or they're in hunks, or the box has dividers, and also the lid is fairly close to the top of the food. Plus, most foods used aren't very liquidy. So even if they do tump over, it's usually not a big deal.

The traditional bento box is wrapped in a square scarf called a furoshiki. The opposing corners are tied together tightly. Therefore, the boxes stay intact.
