Do you buy your lentils in 500g packets?
If so get a new packet, measure the whole packet out to find out how many cupfuls are in the packet, and then divide by 5.
Sorry I can't do this for you as I don't have a full packet at the moment, also my cups may not be exactly the same size as yours.
