If you are relating to modern times then it will be from the end of World War II. Many Italians were held in the UK as prisoners of war and were put to work in the brick making factories. After the war many stayed and settled here and several started Italian Restaurants as they discovered that many English people found a liking for pasta and Italian cuisine. Others came later and more businesses grew.

The holiday tourist industry later made mant different cuisines become popular.

The Romans civilized the British nearly 2000 years ago. Unfortunately the food didn't evolve with the culture. In any case the English and the Italians have always traded goods and even ideas throughout time. I'd say there really is no one set date to answer your question.
