Many Cacti are delicious, and the pads prepared in Mexico (called Nopales >no-pall-ees) are especially tasty!

These are a spikeless variety, as there is no way to soften the pointy things to make them safe to eat.

Often, there is an incredibly strong filament of plant material attached to them (similar to dental floss) that is equally inedible.

Other preparations remove the thorns before consumption.
