Do you mean having a lot of sweet things at a meal or dessert?

Google diabetes and do some research.

It is important to eat more complex carbohydrates such as whole grains, oats, brown rice, wild rice, whole grain pasta, yams, sweet potatoes, if you are a diabetic as they are slower to digest and the sugars take longer to influence your insulin levels. If you eat a lot of sweets and quick carbs like donuts, sugar, pop, white rice, white potatoes, white pasta, etc then you get a lot of sugar quite quickly which makes your insulin spike in order to deal with it.

If you are a Type 2 diabetic then your body's cells do not recognize the insulin and you will have a harder time dealing with the sugars. Your blood will thicken and it is harder for it to pass through your body it will eventually negatively effect your kidneys, your eyesight, your heart, your circulation and other organs. Some people's circulation is so bad that their feet get sores and then they won't heal and they get gangrenous and have to be removed. If that isn't a good enough reason to be good and not eat too much sugar, I don't know what is!

It is a course in itself to understand diabetes. Do some research.

Pre-diabetic and doing something about it.
