What kind of rice is this?!

Question: What kind of rice is this?
I went to a restaurant the other day called Sultan's Café. It's Turkish or Indian, I'm not really sure. I had this rice there that was like heaven. It was a side on the meals and it looked like plain white rice except it was in this sort of mould and it tasted like fried rice except without anything in it.

Does anyone know what kind of rice this is? I'd love to look up a recipe to make it at home (:

probably basmati rice (middle eastern/indian type) and probably cooked in cinnamon, cloves, cardomom. with some sort of ghee, pure butter fat used to make it look oily and fried.. it tastes wonderful served alongside meat or saucy dishes.. but really fattening..

me- saudiarabia

Indian people also eat a rice called pilaf! It has a little bit of a curry taste to it.

I think it's probably what mintee mentioned..basmati is indian
