Baking dish for moussaka , can I use the cake baking pan ?!
Hello there,
I am going to prepare moussaka and I am thinking of using two 8 inch X 8 inch baking pan ( with approximately 2 inch thickness ) that I normally use for baking cakes. Can I really use them to serve say 12 people or must I use a big glass baking dish to fit all the moussaka together ? Also, is the depth of the pan ( approx. 2 inches ) less than what it should actually be ? I know it would look better if I serve in a glass baking tray ! :)

sure you can use it , if you have a glass one that is fine ,as far that presentation goes you usually make the portions in the kitchen and serve the Moussaka on a dinner plate unless it is a Buffet .The main thing here is that the Moussaka taste good .
edit
I forgot about the thickness, this is what it looks like ,don't make too tall it's just like a Lasagna the same goes when you are making Eggplants alla Parmigiana
