It is called paneer (indian cottage cheese) but I am not sure why you found silver pieces in it! Here is a website for whole lot of paneer recipes:

Was it a savory dish? If so it was Paneer, a type of Indian cheese, usually cooked with vegetables in a curry sauce.
If it was a dessert, you'll have to get a picture since there are a few Indian desserts that are essentially a thick paste pressed into a pan before being cut into small cubes.
It was probably some kind of tofu. There are dozens of indian recipes that use it. Look up paneer or baked tofu. That's the closest recipe to your description that I can think of.
