Question: In a pressure cooker food is cooked faster why?
Answers:

Higher Temps

First of all pressure cooker applies pressure to food which helps in changing its state. Then the temperature is also very high now the high temperature and pressure helps in changing the state of food (solid to semi solid) this helps in cooking faster. The fully closed pressure cooker also retains heat more. Therefore pressure cooker is faster in cooking food.

I am in 9th standard and gave this answer in class test.

Higher temperature and pressure.

The boiling point of water goes up with pressure... so when you're cooking in a pressure cooker, the boiling temperature is around 240F to 260F (115C to 125C), depending upon the pressure. In a regular pot, water boils at 212F (100C).

Because it gives pressure.

Not to be used with Indian food!
