Why does any pork dish I order from my locale Chinese Restaurant smell like wet dog?!
I did a Google search and read other similar questions and besides being berated by the Asian Community (I mean no disrespect with this question) about the question being asked there wasn't an answer. AND YES in the Asian Culture, Dog and Cat are served and eaten still to this day it's considered a delicacy. Now before someone says it would be too expensive to serve dog or cat that's not true I see ads for free dog/cats in my local paper and online on a daily basis. So price isn't a factor in this.
My BF and our friends also have commented that the pork has a strong "Wet Dog" smell.
Hoping someone can answer this mystery ... Thank you in advance.
I do not order the pork any more... I stick to shrimp dishes.

Hmmm... Maybe it's the restaurant you're going to or the spices they use.
Any dishes that contains cumin (no matter which cuisine) smells like "stinky feet" to me.
I have no idea but maybe you should stop eating there. I've never had a pork dish that smelled like a wet dog and I've eaten at a lot of different Chinese restaurants.
Maybe its their spices and herbs they use to cook it in, or the pots and pans they used were full of grease, and or msg?
ask the restaurant owner.
woof! woof! woof! SPCA should be alerted !
It just might be a dog. I understand that Chinese people do eat dog.
How Long Have You Had A Dog
If you think any restaurant is serving you dog meat instead of pork as printed on the menu, complain to your local heath department or any government department that oversees restaurant regulations. No one can give you a reasonable answer here because we don't know which restaurant you're talking about nor what "wet dog" smells or tastes like., nor what kind of pork you've been eating.
