Where online can I purchase the dark sauce that they serve in Chinese restaurants with Steamed...?!

Question: Where online can I purchase the dark sauce that they serve in Chinese restaurants with Steamed...?
...Dumplings.
I have found a number of recipes for the sauce that generally contains Soy Sauce, Rice Vinegar, Honey, Sesame Seed and Sesame Oil. Some recipes call for the addition of, Ginger, Hot Chili Oil, and other Soy sauces. My wife made it for me some years ago and swore that it was the last time, as it was a lot of work, and dangerous making it with the Hot Chili Oil. My local carry out Chinese Restaurant gives me little tiny containers when I buy the Steamed Dumpling, but I'd love to have some on hand as I always run out before I finish all the Dumplings.

I did a quick look and didn't expect to find this, but I see this "Recipe courtesy PickUp Stix" that I think is what you're after:

Spicy House Special Chicken

Ingredients

1 teaspoon soybean oil
6 Red Chilies, dried
1/4 ounce minced garlic
1 ounce Sambal Chili Paste
5 1/2 ounces House Sauce
Dash white pepper
11 ounces cooked chicken chunk
1 ounce chopped green onion
2 drops sesame oil

Directions
In a hot wok, add oil. Add dry chili and stir fry for 10 seconds. Add garlic and stir fry for 10 seconds. Add sambal chili paste and stir fry for 10 seconds. Add house sauce and white pepper. Stir fry to incorporate. Bring to a boil. Add chicken and stir fry to incorporate. Reduce heat to a strong simmer and stir until sauce has reduced to a rich, dark, caramelized glaze that completely coats the chicken.
Add sesame oil and green onions and stir fry for 3 seconds to incorporate.

I hope that's it!!

This famous recipe is as follows:

1. Simmer cat/dog/deer/skunk/possum for 45 minutes in boiling water. If skunk, then remove stink glands and sauté them separately for another 15 minutes.

2. Bring water to a boil and put in two quarts of fresh poke salad leaves. Boil for 7 minutes and remove and immediately cool with cold water.

3. Take cat/dog/deer/skunk/possum and reduce to small cubes. Fry cubes in possum fat (there will be plenty) until brown.

4. Take cat/dog/deer/skunk/possum cubes and roll in arrow root powder mixed with two duck eggs, then refry until the coating is brown. Set aside.

Finally take white rice and bring to boil. Remove water and let sit until it is caked hard on the pan. Then mix cat/dog/deer/skunk/possum and poke salad leaves with rice and stir. Add glands if you got ‘em. Season with swamp water and fish emulsion.

Hmmm boy, you have the real thing! Just like momma used to make!

Chinese dumplings traditionally should go with Zhenjiang Vinegar aka Chinkiang Vinegar:
http://china.chinaa2z.com/china/html/loc…

It should be available in Chinese grocery. With this, all you need to add is a little sesame oil. Sliced ginger, chili oil and/or honey are optional.

There is "dumpling sauce" bottled that combines the ingredients. I found some at an Asian supermarket in their sauce section. A brand called Lee Kum Kee seems to produce lots of different sauces. try Yelp for finding an Asian supermarket near you or in a community nearby.

Just as the carry out place if you can buy a larger container from them. I'll bet they wil sell to you.

hey we both have the same NUGGETS!

chicken of course

they have it here.

They make the sauce, I'm not sure if you can actually purchase them online.
