How can some people dislike eating snails (French escargots), but like eating clam chowder?!

Question: How can some people dislike eating snails (French escargots), but like eating clam chowder?
... scallops, oysters, mussels, squid/calamari, and the sort? Snails are mollusks just like clams and the others I listed.

Answers:

Well, i am speaking from experience. There is a big difference in SNAILS and OYSTERS. Have you ever seen a snail? they are slimy and discusting. Oysters are slimy, but have flavor in them. Same for CLAMS. Clams have flavor. I will not eat Squid as they just look discusting to eat.

my favorite out of all of these are CLAMS AND OYSTERS. i will not eat the others. I do not like cray fish (crawfish). I will eat shrimp, and lobster occasionally, and love my regular fish except for sword fish and salmon.

It's all in the mind I say. I've had Frog legs, Rabbit, never tried escargot before though. I draw the line at Crawfish, blech.... salty tasting things. I ate one and promptly spat it out because it tasted too much like salt.

One of my aunts ate snails once though. She said they tasted just like Oysters or clams.
