Do Native Americans still use all parts of their food?!

Question: Do Native Americans still use all parts of their food?
I was at an art show this weekend, and there was a Native American vendor who was selling dreamcatchers. The frame of the dreamcatcher was made out of yogurt containers and the webbing was made out of the cellophane from the front of pasta boxes. This got me wondering, do Native Americans still believe is using "all parts of the kill"? Like, do they use the plastic wrap on their meat to make gloves and stuff?

Gloves out of plastic wrap? Are you serious? Sounds like a good way to spread salmonella and still have cold hands.

And what does meat bought at a store have to do with "using all parts of the kill"? Do YOU kill your meat in a grocery store?

Here- yes, when we hunt, everything is used, meat, hide, bones- all of it. But when we shop, we recycle and use the trash just like everyone else.

Native

no. in fact that sounds just plain wrong. i'm willing to bet that wasn't an actual native person at all.

when we hunt, (those of us who still do) then yes traditionally we do not waste anything. however no one should be wasting food anyway, not just native people.

mohawk

sounds like that guy was just trying to make things to earn money, .......but naw we dont do that........lol...... i have men in my family that hunt and fish and many still use bones for fishing hooks and thingz, we never waste meat cuz its a living animal with a spirit

That is just plain silly and leads me to believe you are just telling a fake story.
Do we use the plastic packaging from meat that is sold in a store to make things like gloves.

Many of us Reduce, Reuse and Recycle like everyone else.
