Looking for a Japanese candy?!

Question: Looking for a Japanese candy?
My husband brought me back a box of candy from an airport in Japan. Of course, I threw the box away before realizing I should have kept it to find it again. It was a soft, almost gelatinous, light green ball (? melon or green tea) that was dusted in cornstarch. The filling was white and tasted almost like sweetened condensed milk. Sooooo yummy! And it's not mochi. I've done a bunch of searching online and can't find a thing.

It's probably Mochi, rice cake made of glutinous rice pounded into paste and molded into shape. They come in all kinds of flavors.

Here are some examples of it:

If you like these, you should also try mochi icecream! :)

Big fan

you are describing what generally is just call jelly candy.
there are huge varieties of japanese jelly candies, some with and some without fillings, and a wide variety of flavors

i would suggest checking some of your local asian markets, most which will carry at least a few... possibly some similar to the ones you are looking for.

By your description I would guess Daifuku.

Light green daifuku is usually green tea, and they do actually come with cream filling.

If you have a World Market store near you, you might be able to find it there (whatever it is...lol). Go to their website for locations. Sorry I can't help you with the name.
