Before I had mine removed about 6 months ago I did lot of reading about diet post gallbladder removal (google life after gallbladder surgery, lots of good, informative stuff out there) . Some guy boasted in his blog about discharging himself mere hours after surgery, going to MacDonald's and having a big mac and large fries without any problems whatsoever. Then there were other blogs I read where the authors said they couldn't eat anything even remotely fatty or spicy without having to run for the bathroom straight afterward. For just about everybody it is trial and error. I now find I can't eat anything deep fried or very rich any more, not a huge loss for me, I didn't eat much of that kind of food before my gallbladder conked out on me and as long as I'm not stupid about it I can have a slice or two of pizza or a small serve of my favourite curry. Admittedly I make these sorts of foods at home now so I know exactly what is in them and I can make them low fat where possible, but if you really LOVE those kinds of foods you can usually find a way.
Have fun. I remember how much pain I went through before they took out my gallbladder whenever I ate a high fat food. The attacks were horrible.
As soon as it was out, I had a big, juicy Pink's hot dog and was in heaven.
Your gallbladder collects and releases the fat-digesting liver secretions, so unless they are very fatty there should be no objection to spicy foods or pizzas.
ur liver metabolizes most of these types of foods, ur gallbladder doesn't play much of a roll in this . happy eating!
you don't have a gallbladder what?
