When you bake something, what do you have to grease on the pan?!


Question: When you bake something, what do you have to grease on the pan?
I've seen everyone grease the pan before the put the cupcake paper wrappers in or the cake in. What do you use to grease the pan?? Please tell me!!

Sometimes I grease the pan with melted butter but sometimes I grease the pan with olive oil or vegetable oil.



It would not matter if you used an old tin out of the back yard ,if you have a cupcake paper in it ,but on the other hand id you were to bake muffins ,yorkshire pudding,rock cakes ,etc ,it is usually a good move to apply melted butter with a brush to give the metal a covering , and a slight dusting of plain flour ,this ensures the mix will not stick..

You dont need to grease a pan if you're using baking cups. Otherwise, plain old butter works great.
