this is something called, from what i no, Zhongzi, (idk the name in english...) its sticky rice with some kind of filling, and if you just buy it from an asian grocery, then you can just boil it and eat!



This is zongzi, a kind of Chinese dumpling quite similar to the Mexican tamales in that rice with mostly meat fillings are wrapped in leaves. It is a very long process, the wrapping is not easy to do as you can see from the triangular pyramid shape, and it takes 4-5 hours of boiling just for cooking the wrapped zongzi itself. I'd say 99% of Chinese people buy them cooked then reheat it later. You can google zongzi recipe, here is one:

How mum always cooks them, as well as '' Lo Mai Gai '' MAN i love it.

It takes time, preparation and knowledge to cook these.
