Can I freeze fresh pizza dough?!

Question: Can I freeze fresh pizza dough?
If so, how do i thaw it?

Answers:

I freeze pizza dough all the time. I make it in batches of three or four, wrap them in Saran Wrap and put them in the freezer. Whenever I need a quick weekend meal I just take one out of the freezer and put it in the main part of the refrigerator or just place it on my kitchen counter to thaw. It really takes no time at all and defrosts pretty fast.

I can't remember the last time I ordered a pizza from a delivery service. Homemade taste so much better.

Freeze it in a plastic ziplock or something similar BEFORE it starts to rise. When you want to use it, take it out of the freezer and leave it somewhere slightly warm. Take it out of the container or bag; put it on a baking sheet or in a glass bowl. It will thaw and start to rise over the next couple of hours.
You can preheat your oven to the lowest setting (mine is 175 degrees F) then TURN OFF the oven and put it in there. If you don't turn off the oven, the dough will cook without rising and be ruined.

Yeast doughs, like pizza dough, freeze very well. Wrap them in wax paper, and put that in a freezer bag. It will keep up to three months.

To use it, defrost it in the refrigerator; it will take 8 to 12 hours. It will roll out best if you let it come to room temperature before rolling it out. Then bake it as normal.

I have thawed both in the microwave and in the fridge. I would say the fridge one was just a little better.

It's not as good as fresh but can get you by....

Make sure you make it as air tight as you can or use one of those air-sucker-outers....I can't think of the name of it. I have a small gallon size one that works decently.

Good Luck!

Have a great day

I do it all the time

Freeze it in a freezer bag (get as much air out of the bag as possible)

To use, just take the bag out of the freezer about 3-4 hours before you need it. After 1-2 it will thaw and the next hour or two it will rise.

form it into a ball and wrap it well in plastic wrap then in a freezer bag. It stays frozen well for about 6 months.

When you want to use it remove all the wrapping place in a lightly oiled bowl, covered with a towel, let it come to room temperature the stretch to the proper size.

Yea you can freeze it. And let it sit oiut for a bit to thaw it
