What do white people think of the taste of soulfood?!
and please don't get the sterotype wrong and think that all black people eat greasy food everyday because it is so not true. Most African Americans I know these days are much more health conciuous and are getting into natural hair & veganism!!
but this is a fun question, what do you like most about it, be honest

Does soulfood include chitlins? Because they smell like s**t. Who wants to ingest the intestines of a pig? Sick!
I'm as white as the driven snow, but I was raised in the south and I love what you're calling "soul food". We never called it that; we just called it dinner. I was raised on macaroni and cheese, fried chicken, fried chicken livers, collard and mustard greens, green beans and fat back, fried green tomatoes, fried catfish and hush puppies, and vegetables with "pot likker". Pinto beans and black eyed peas over cornbread were a staple of our diet. To this day, a glass of cornbread and buttermilk with chopped onions and hot sauce is one of my favorite snacks.
Hog Mawl is another name for jowls, you know the cheeks. They're smoked and used to season black eyed peas. You eat them for luck on New Years. Collard greens cooked with a pound of bacon or turnip greens or mustard greens. Grits. Corn bread or pone. Green beans and potatoes.
The secret ingredient is Tony Chacherie's Mo' Spice.
Love Love Love it! Give me pinto beans, turnip greens (with the turnips), yellow meal corn bread, sweet potatoes, buttermilk and I am in heaven. There are more beneficial nutrients found in a sweet potato than in any other food. Pinto beans are packed with proteins and can be used as a meat substitute. Greens are full of iron. YUM!
I like the fried stuff but the gelatinous stuff like hog mawls and pigs feet aren't appetizing. I even like fried chitlins but not stewed or boiled.
