what would happen if all you ate in 1 day was a chicken burger with chips?!

Question: What would happen if all you ate in 1 day was a chicken burger with chips?
so if you ate nothing else all day and just drank water until the evening where you then eat a chicken burger with chips and a bit of salad, would you lose weight, stay neutral or put on weight?

Thinking of just 1 meal a day should let you lose some weight but depending on what's in the chicken burger & how big, how much chips you will eat and is there any dressing in your salad may affect the result. You may end up gaining more weight because eating super heavy dinner may not have sufficient time for your body to digest so all the fats and calories will remain and gather inside you.

It's not just what you eat - it's how many calories you eat.

An average woman still needs about 1500-1800 calories a day, depending on her overall activity level.

Even if the above meal had that many calories (doubtful) it wouldn't fulfill your nutritional needs for the day as there's not enough fiber, vegetables, or fruit and not enough vitamins or minerals - like calcium. You'll get plenty of protein from the chicken, but I'm also guessing you'll get quite a bit of fat.

Yeah, you'll probably lose weight, but your body will think there's a famine going on, which is going to cause it to start converting everything it can into fat - including your muscles. You'll be malnourished, weak, and sick. Not what people would call a good combination.

Short term you would lose weight just because of the lack of caloric intake. However, if you deprive your body of food for a long period of time, it goes into "emergency mode", where it stores any food you eat directly into regions on your stomach. It does this because it doesn't know when it will get food again, and feels the need to store it away. You will most likely start to get some love handles!

1st answer is correct-ish

the only bit i disagree with is short term you would loose weight
thinking of the value (calories/fat etc) of that
i dont eat that much per day

i am a very small eater
thats due to the fact i was a poor eater a few years ago and wrecked my body and now i can no longer tolerate big meals

please do not think there is any quick fix
i didnt do what i did for that reason, i was ill
i couldnt eat
but the results are still the same
a body that can no longer take food like normal people

the old cliches ring true
watch what you eat, a little exercise, and a little of what you fancy does you good
thats the way to loose weight, and remain healthy

i do wish i had the help i needed at the time

lose weight. And it would last about two weeks. Once you snap, you'd end up gorging on any food you could find, you'd be so ravenous.
Beware doing that, your body is a machine which needs fuel, and ignoring that will cause drastic repurcussions.

Treat high-calorie foods as jewels in the crown. Make a spoonful of ice cream the jewel and a bowl of fruit the crown. Cut down on the chips by pairing each bite with lots of chunky, filling fresh salsa

lose
