I haven't led an adventurous life, but I have tried chitlins exactly once. I can truthfully report that they are every bit as disgusting as you would expect.

I've also been served, in all earnestness, a section of backbone from some large animal, probably a cow. I can't report on it as food though, since I was unable to find anything edible on it.

Living in Japan, I have eaten quite a few things that would possibly be called weird in other cultures. The strangest things I have eaten have been

Live Octopus Tentacle Sashimi - served in a Korean restaurant, they were still moving as we ate them and could feel them as they went down

Fish Sperm (shirako) - this was served in a croquette and I didn`t like it much

Horse Sashimi (basashi) - This was actually pretty good

Poisonous Blowfish (fugu) - prepared by a master chef and just had to try it once

I've also have * tripas tacos... small cow intestines... not bad but not my fav either...
I've had * "moronga" pig's blood. It was cooked with onions and chili and turned chunky like chorizo. I was actually good.
And... frog... just kidding, I didn't but my little sister did, she was sitting right next to me, she says it's yummy and taste like chicken... IDK, I haven't taken that risk... yet.

Daphne, Dutch. She was a little salty but it kind of enhanced the flavor. It wasn't thick but it had the right amount of substance to it, though it was a little discolored. Wasn't the worst but definitely not the best.

Going Dutch on dates rule

Eel tastes weird to me in a good way I guess. I enjoy new food. It were a small can imported from portugal. I fried them in grape leaves over cous cous. These were good. Some other larger breed was breaded and tasted freakishly oily. Definaly much weirder.

The town I worked in had a yearly turkey-fry. That means breaded and deep-fried turkey testicles. They weren't bad, crunchy outside and the inside is a bit salty. They were served with coleslaw, Texas toast, and a pickle.

octopus sushi.... it doesn't sound THAT weird, but it had tentacles, and they were really chewy like little rubber rings..... it made me sick to my stomach afterward. lol. so much for being adventurous!

Tripas tacos: fried small intestines wrapped in a tortilla and covered with cilantro and onions.

Blood Sausage.
It was yummy, except the chunks of fat.
