Korean water? Help me remember what this is!?!

Question: Korean water? Help me remember what this is!?
When I was a kid, my best friend was Korean, and I spent a lot of time at her house, where they introduced me to TONS of amazing authentic food. One of the things I remember was this beverage that her mom made...she would boil water with some kind of "nut" looking thing (except it wasn't nuts). They boiled it with the water, and then when the water was cooled we would drink it. It was SOOOO delicious, but now I can't figure out what it was at all. Any ideas?

Perhaps it was Shikkye? It has rice sometimes and its very delicious. You make it hot, but its served cold!
