Is sushi bad for you?!
Answers:
Sushi is generally very good for you, but It really depends on the type of sushi you eat. Avoid any sushi that is deep fried or tempura. Some of the rolls like California Roll and Prawn Tempura Roll are also really bad health wise. If you stick to traditional style sushi it can be a nutritional powerhouse. The best sushi and fish to look for are Salmon and Tuna. These are oily fish and contain omega 3 fatty acids and lots of nutrients. The best rolls to go for are Salmon Roll, Avocado Roll and Cucumber Roll. Try and eat sushi with nori or seaweed as this contains iodine and many other healthy minerals.

Raw fish sushi can be bad if you get something not fresh or not sushi grade but it should be fine if you eat in a reputed Japanese restaurant. Its considered a healthy food.
Shrimp Tempura Roll is one of the roll that has high calories which is about 508 per roll (about 6-8 pieces) so maybe you can avoid rolls like this or sushi with tempura on it due to the frying.
Averagely not more than 60 calories for per piece of sushi but Tamago (omlette) is 75 calories per piece.
1 cup of sushi rice is about 165 calories only so its not that fattening.
Do drink unsweetened green tea to help burning the fats, filling up your stomach and give your body the extra antioxidant protection.
Well fish that can be used in sushi like Tuna has a lot of mercury in it. The higher the feeding fish (Tuna, dolphins, sharks, etc) the more mercury is in it. And if you eat too much of that fish, you could have mercury poison. Although Sushi doesn't refer to the raw fish, it is actually just rice with seaweed and some other things. So without the fish it is probably very good for you, unless you're counting calories, and white rice can have a lot.
Good luck and happy birthday!
No, if you make sure not too eat too many carbs on that day, you'll be fine. Sushi is a well rounded meal, with the good kind of protein (fish) and just the right amount of carbs (if you don't eat more than two rolls). Mercury poisoning is NOTHING to be afraid of. You'd have to eat alot of sushi for that, lol.
Have been eating sushi for years!!
Sushi rice can be bad for a diet, but you can enjoy Miso soup and Sashimi and have a great birthday dinner.
no sushi is actually really good for you
Not as long as you don't 'pig out' Anything in moderation is good for you.
well I've heard they use raw fish sometimes. this could lead to food poisoning
