How to Freeze Home Made Bao?!

Question: How to Freeze Home Made Bao?
I am preparing filled bao at home tonight. I have made it before but now I am making a very large batch, and I want to freeze some for later. Would I steam all the bao and then freeze it and resteam or freeze what I want to save and then steam it for the first time when I want to eat it? Also should I thaw it before steaming/resteaming or can if be steamed from frozen?

Answers:

1) You steam them first before you freeze them.

2) There's no need to thaw them. You just put them in the steamer and let the steam do all the work. But, you could also let them defrost if you wish.

Note: Keep bao covered while you let them cool down. If you leave them in the open air, the outer layer will dry out pretty fast. It is okay to freeze bao while they are "moist". :)
