Is sheep's lungs essential to making haggis?!

Question: Is sheep's lungs essential to making haggis?
Answers:

There's not a lot I won't eat but lamb's lungs is on that list. I was invited to someone's house for lunch in Morocco and they served lamb's lungs... it was beyond disgusting. Obviously they didn't have a dog or they would have fed it to the effing beast! Srsly... this is stuff you only eat when there's nothing else left and you're really hungry.

Sounds delicious, apparently it makes up around 10% of the dish and is essential for the flavour...
