4CUPS OF RICE HOW MUCH WATER TO ADD?!

Question: 4CUPS OF RICE HOW MUCH WATER TO ADD?
im making 4cups of rice how much water to add

Answers:

Equal amounts of water to equal amounts of rice, oh, by the way, if you are doing four cups of rice, better have a rather large pan for it, because rice doubles is size.

If you are cooking 4 cups of Jasmine rice with a electrical rice cooker, the ratio for rice & water should be 1:1. If you are cooking 4 cups of brown rice, wild rice, red rice, the rice & water ratio should be 1:1.5 <2 depends on whether you soak the rice with water for a few hours before you start cooking.

If you are cooking 4 cups of Jasmine rice with a non-sticking pan or pot, then, the ratio for rice & water should be 1: 1.3< 1.5.

Being a Chinese, I have rice on our dining table almost daily.

What kind of rice have you got? General rule of thumb - unpolished rice (i.e. brown, or long grain wild rice), 1 part rice to 2 parts water, so u need 8 cups of water.
If you are cooking polished rice (i.e. white rice, jasmine rice etc), 1 part rice to 1.5 part water, so you will need 6 cups of water in this case.

I only use rice cooker.

Japanese style
Rinse rice until water runs clear.
Let rice drain for 30 minutes, rice will get very white.
Let rice sit in cool water for 30 minutes.
USE EQUAL RICE TO WATER
(1 to 1 first time and then adjust based upon rice type, rice cooker, and your taste)
Turn on rice cooker.
Let rice sit 15 minutes before eating.

I'm fat.

Ratio, shmatio. No one I know who makes rice actually measures anything. They use this method and the rice always come out fine.

Rinse the rice if you want, then dump it in the pot.

Pour in enough water to cover the rice by about 1/2"-3/4" (about the length of the tip of your index finger to the first knuckle.)

depends, actually.

rule of thumb: water to rice ratio should be 2:1

but if you want your rice to be nice and soft, then add about half a cup more of water

if you want your rice to be dry, then lessen the water tiny bit.

if you are starting with 4 cups of uncooked rice, you add 8 cups of water.

If you are trying to make 4 cups of COOKED rice, start with 1 1/2 cups of rice, 3 cups of water, this will give you pretty close to 4 cups of cooked rice.

1 1/2 to 2 cups of water per cup of rice.
Your 4 cups of rice will yield 12 cups of cooked rice.

If you are using an electric rice cooker the ratio is: 1 cup rice = 1 cup H2O

Are you using brown or basmati rice or others, check the box or package. There will be differences.

The rice rule is 1.5. So for 4c of rice, you need to add 6c of water.

1 cup rice, 2 parts water. You need 8 cups water. Maybe a little (1/4c) less if you rinsed/soaked your rice.

Add 8 cups of water.

8 cups

Twice the amount of water to rice

8 Cups, just to confirm!
