How to eat a Turkish breakfast in Turkey?!
I just arrived in Turkey yesterday and today for breakfast we were served: olives, tomatoes, cucumbers, goat cheese, bologna type meat slices, bread, butter, cream cheese spread and honey.
It was amazing but I want to eat it like the locals do. If there's any Turks out there, am I supposed to combine any specific foods? Like goat cheese and honey? What is the most common element spread on bread? What is the honey most commonly eaten with? Etc...
Thank you!
Answers:
You don't have to combine anything.
That's regular breakfast.
Green and / or black olives
White ( feta ) cheese or yellow cheese
Jam or honey
Salami or soudjouk ( Bologna type meat)
Jam or honey
Butter
Bread
Fried or boiled eggs.
Some people like to spread butter on their bread.
Some try not to eat butter.
Some eat bread with the cheese.
Some eat bread with honey.
Some eat cheese with tomatoes.
Others prefer to eat feta cheese with jam.
You are not supposed to combine anything.
P.S.

Don't be surprised if you find soup in breakfast.
I'm Turkish
You can eat it whatever way you like.
I hope you enjoy your stay in Turkey, but try not to get ripped off...They often try to sell things to tourists at ridiculous prices thinking they're stupid..
I'm Turkish and I've been to Turkey many times
It's really mix and match! You can eat nearly all of the food with bread. For example, you can have bread with honey or bread with cheese or tomato with cheese and olives.. It's how you like it!
im jordanian, but its the same out there. with tea right? loll. nahh you dont have to do it any special way.. just eat it.
