What is a food eaten in America that other cultures would find disgusting?!
Answers:
Anything that isn't organic, pure, fresh and natural. We read constantly about growth hormone injected into your farm animals (forbidden in Europe), water that is recycled and contains traces of medicines, sold to you by municipal water corporations as drinking water, GMO foods, artificial sweeteners and other chemicals added to your food ..... they sound not just disgusting, but frightening. When I come to visit America someday, I will be very particular about what I eat.
The cuisine of the USA is a conglomeration of food cultures from around the world. If it is eaten anywhere in the world it will be found in the USA. The variety and diversity of food found in the USA is unparalleled in any other single country.
Still, when I lived in Japan I always liked to have some black licorice on my desk to ward off unwanted visitors. I never met a Japanese who liked the stuff.
Sebastia - Please give the America thing a rest. There isn't a single person in North or South America who isn't a citizen of the United States of America who refers to him or herself as an American. Just isn't so. Everyone knows exactly what is meant by the term American. When speaking of geography then a distinction is made so as to avoid confusion but that rarely is the case. It is certainly not the case that Americans (See, you know exactly to whom I'm referring.) do not know the distinction.
You are completely off base with reference to the term American. You should read a but of history and find that the name America comes from Amerigo Vespucci. He visited South America but never North America. Many, if not all the prople of Latin America are quite annoyed hearing most in the United States claiming to be Americns
My Chinese friends do not seem to be very fond of chocolate and cheese as served in the USA..
I agree that those outside the USA are generally appalled y the huge portions served in so many places.
I think some of the desserts you find in the US would shock and disgust a lot of other cultures. Seriously, when you pile icing an inch thick, THEN add caramel or chocolate sauce, shavings of chocolate and icecream, that's over the top.
Same thing with some fast food items like the double down, hugely gross excess amounts of unhealthy foods.
Mr. Turtle, I have eaten fried rattlesnake on numerous occasions-it's good. Guess I didn't get the memo about it being taboo.
cchh-you eat SWEAT stuff!?!! Eewwww-and I don't even want to know what poppy stuff is supposed to be...
I'm in Australia and I have to say that I don't hear about anything weird (like monkeys brains lol) but I do hear a lot about American's upsizing their meals and eating large quantities of unhealthy food.
It's funny though because I hear stories from people in other countries who think us Australian's ride around on emu's and kangaroos - which isn't true!
Depends , Explanation
Some cultures are use to sour stuff and maybe they wont like the sweat stuff we have
Some love Sweat stuff wont like our sour stuff
Some like poppy stuff and wont like our normal food
For example : My friend is Indian , from India , she hates sour stuff we eat , she likes our spicey stuff , SHE LOVES HOT WINGS ! Hope you understand

^^^^^^^ the " Mystery meat " at taco bell is 40% beef and the rest is vegan oats and grains. My opinion is take the 40% beef out and make it 100% vegan. And i would say other countries would be disgusted by how greasy and fattening our food is.
Probably chili dogs, those are disgusting. And to Sebastian, we are America, every where else is just a tourist attraction, that we americans visit to pretend to be cultured, and then we go back to america.
I was told that in Africa they believe that we eat snake meat which is considered taboo. I think other cultures would be shocked about how much food we waste. We wouldn't even think to eat the heart and lungs of an animal.
hamburger, french fries and coke.
in the mediterranean countries we prefer helthier foods.
This is true...the WTF mystery meat in your fast foods. I mean, if the "beef" that Taco Bell uses is only 40% real beef, then what's the other 60%...
But in Korea (and in probably every single nation in the world) people here usually think that all Americans eat are hamburgers, pizza, and Coke (which is mostly true (?))
Oh, and when I was visiting Texas, I saw fried alligator tail, gator steak, bull tail, pig intestines (at a local farmer's market) and goat penis (gross period). But again, I actually saw this, so...yeah.
PS they also eat sheep brain in France, I tried it, actually. Ahahaha.
@Jillbea: Oh wait, I was wrong. Only 36% of the "beef" is real beef, while the other 64 percent is tasteless, artificial fibers, coloring, and other crap to look like normal beef (that's why Taco Bell got
sued by Alabama). They list grains and oats on the package ingredients because if they put the actual ingredients on there, nobody would buy tacos and Taco Bell would go bankrupt. But compared to McDonalds, Taco Bell is super healthy. Like, the hamburgers don't decompose. At all. For years. Even flies won't reproduce in them. Real meat is supposed to decompose completely in a week, tops. Extremely unhealthy" is an understatement. I prefer my fresh veggie filled bibimbap and bulgogi made out of 100% cow. Or maybe some more of the sheep brain from France.
Meat... well in India cows are considered sacred they even have a bill of rights and maybe Indians won't find it disgusting but insulting. And please say the USA or United States if you're referring to your country with America you refer to every country from Argentina to Canada gosh I hate how the U.S thinks they're America
