Eek! Help me with a couple spices?!

Question: Eek! Help me with a couple spices?
I need 4-5 cloves but, only have ground cloves.
How much would this be in tsp?
Also, I would like to add Cinnamon (1 stick) to this dish... we're fresh out of cinnamon sticks though! We only have sugared cinnamon which I really don't want to use and another mix called "chinese five spice" which consists of ground cinnamon, star anise, cloves, fennel and pepper... If I used some of this, how much and would it ruin an indian dish with the other spices?

Answers:

Ok, 4-5 cloves equals around 1 levelled teaspoon of ground cloves.....But i would use less as the oils in the ground cloves will be stronger, a half teaspoon should be suffice.
Many people mix up the spices for indian dishes and make it their own creation, i do everytime, i dont even use recipes books anymore......I personally wouldnt use 5 spice as star anise is quite overpowering sometimes, but possibly use a pinch and it wont ruin the flavour......Good luck. :).

4-5 cloves would be about 3/4 of a tsp. DO NOT use sugared cinnamon, it'll just ruin the entire dish. It won't really change the flavor much of the dish if you omit the cinnamon. Chinese 5-spice is very srtong, i would suggest not to use more than a pinch.
