White Lotus Seed Paste?!

Question: White Lotus Seed Paste?
Sorry - another question! I have found a recipe for 'Oneness Cookies' on http://www.openrice.com/english/recipe/detail.htm?recipeid=960 and it includes in the ingredients White Lotus Seed Paste, i have never heard of this or ever seen it before! so if anyone knows where to find this (or if this is really vital in the recipe - because i could just leave it out) I'd be very gratefull.

Answers:

The recipe you're looking at should be inspired by moon cakes, the cookie even comes with the stamp 'moon'. Chinese moon cakes traditionally come with sweet fillings, with lotus seed paste and red bean paste being the most popular. I don't know if you could find canned white lotus seed paste in Asian grocery, but I am quite sure you should able to buy canned red bean paste in East Asian groceries, this should be a good substitute.
