How do you use shio konbu?!

Question: How do you use shio konbu?
The packet has a picture of it sprinkled over rice. Do you just use it as a garnish?

I would like to try it with rice, but am not sure how to prepare it. Also, is it a strong flavour?

Thanks in advance.

Answers:

It is a type of seaweed and can be used as garnish on rice, noodles, in soups and as an accent to braise or steam fish dishes. when I was a chef I worked for a brief time in Japan for a Canadian Hotel chain, we had 3 restaurants, the Japanese Sushi and Teppanyaki place used it for alot of dishes and purposes

u may blanch them and then sprinkle on rice or pasta. it tastes best with rice.
