sweet potato info needed please.?!

Question: Sweet potato info needed please.?
is a sweet potato, a veg or a carb..on your five a-day list.?
im always unsure as to weather its a carb like a king edward potato or is it a veg..as its suppose to be fibrous..unsure..lol

Answers:

Can't it be both?
Carbs and vegetables are not mutually exclusive.

Sweet potato is a Low GI carb (=good), and it is also a vegetable.

They don't have the king edward potato on their site, but I'm assuming it's not much different than a red potato or new american potato, which have slightly more calories and higher glycemic load than the sweet potato, which is counterintuitive, because you would think the sweet potato probably has more simple sugars. The vitamins, minerals, proteins, etc. are otherwise really similar, it seems.

Edit...

Oh, I didn't answer your question. A sweet potato is a "root vegetable", much like other vegetables that grow a bulb under ground. The starch content depends on the type of potato.

Its classed as a vegetable so enjoy I love them

It's an organic veg lol
