Do you like eating Chinese foods?!
Do you like eating Chinese foods?
These questions are for those who are not a Chinese or maybe a Chinese in other (not Asian) countries.
What do you normally order when you get into a Chinese resturant? Are most of the Chinese resturants there opened by a Chinese? Do you enjoy eating Chinese food? Does it taste better comparing to those you eat in the Asian countries than in China town? Whats with the take out boxes with a certain shape that I usually saw in American movies? When do you wat Chinese food? During special days or regularly? Is it because its cheap but delicious and its much more healthier than Western fast foods? Do Chinese there still eat home-cooked Chinese or a typical Western meal?
I'm just asking this because I'm really curious with so many questions regarding Chinese food and because I eat them every day so I don't think its that special. Just like we normally eat Western or Japanese cuisine on a special days. Is it the same with Chinese food to you????

Cuz I don't cook dinner, my mum does.. ^^' and I've never heard of that before, maybe because its in English and I usually knows the Chinese name.. Haha..

I love ALL types and styles of Chinese cooking (especially Szechuan). I am originally from Vancouver, justly famous as the best city in the world outside of Asia for Chinese food and now I live in Mexico City. (which is SO bad, its like going back in time 40-50 years in the US and Canada, to the days of fried rice, greasy egg rolls, chow mein and chop suey!
So now I keep my own woks, kitchen utensils and spices and cook my own Chinese food at home. Its a real nuisance, but my family loves me for it.
And yes, eating Chinese food is a special treat for us down here. Its also a LOT of work as many spices, utensils and ingredients are very hard to find in Mexican markets .................
I order Chop Suey and fried rice and of course egg rolls. yes I enjoy eating it is very good. Yes most restaurents are opend by the Chinese. Don't know never been to Asia countries...I am gonna guess it is better there then in China Town. I love the boxes the take out food comes in so original. Everyday is when I want Chinese food mostly on the weekends is when I order it. Regularly I order it. It is cheap and tastes sooo good....now I feel like eating some. Thanks!
i likes to eat chienes food but some are not tasty i m a people in a small town in malaysia! there don't likes to eat chinese food n i am a chinese puplis

When I don't go for the buffet, I will order Shrimp in lobster sauce with steamed veggies and steamed rice w/ egg roll.
Topped off w/ a shot of Sake after dinner drink...........
Who doesn't love Chinese food? lol I gotta have my shrimp canton (deep fried shrimp w/ sweet sour sauce) and Kau yuk (pot roast pork made with char siu) mmmm Oo I also love my cup dai chook (rice soup). Prefer fried rice over white rice, love crispy gau gee and egg rolls. Roast duck, Beef and shrimp broccoli with noodles, chow fun. This would be our typical order at a Chinese restaurant more then likely done on a special occasion but has been known to happen only because we feel like eating Chinese.
I'm not sure whats up with the boxes except that their kinda shaped like pagodas or Chinese buildings that you see in gardens. They are pretty strong boxes tho and they come in 3 diff sizes if I'm not mistaken. Hey stack them up and they look just like a pagoda.
Chinese food is eaten whenever we feel like eating Chinese. Either we eat out or cook some at home. I'd prefer to eat out tho lol less dishes to clean lol
The cost of Chinese food here varies. And the taste all depends on the cooks no matter if it be in china town or Wahiawa or where ever. I'm part Chinese and 6 other different ethnic backgrounds. My grandmother made the best Kau yuk!! (Pot roast pork). Well I guess I said enough lol
Aloha From Hawaii :-)
start it off with corn crab soup
then..
roast duck in two ways:
1st: the skin of the duck with some meat wrapped in some pita(??) wrap with hoisin sauce of course!
2nd way: MINCED! you get to put them in lettuce leaves also with hoisin
salt and pepper pork (my absolute fave!)
steamed fish
prawn balls
lemon chicken
sweet and sour pork
hainanese chicken with the yummy ginger sauce
and of course SALTED FISH w/ DICED CHICKEN FRIED RICE!!
these are my favorites among others
and top it all off with mango pudding!
oh my... i love it... =)
Unfortunately, I don't have them at home, maybe the hainanese chicken, occasionally the sweet and sour pork and instant corn crab soup.
No, we are not chinese, just a percentage, though I would love to be! (hello fair skin and gorgeous hair plus the yummy food!) we eat them anytime, anywhere, special occasion or not. =)
Sounds as though you are chinese.. would you be kind enough to share with me how to prepare the SALT AND PEPPER PORK SPARERIBS? the one that's spicy. It seems to be friend in onions, garlic and bell peppers.. please help. =)
I adore Chinese food and eat it every chance I get. When I go to a Chinese restaurant, I always ask that my food be prepared as authentically as possible, because Chinese food in the States is quite different from food in China. It is made for the American palate, which likes things sweeter and with heavier sauces. I usually order Hot and Sour Soup and some chicken dish with vegetables. I never order sweet or fried dishes. I saw very few of them when I traveled in China. I also don't get chop suey or chow mein, which represent the least tasty of Chinese food to me. Interestingly, when I was in China, many Chinese used a knife and fork to eat their Chinese-style food, while we tourists used chopsticks! The food there was awesome.
