Answers:
Southern Fried Cabbage
INGREDIENTS
3 slices bacon, cut into thirds
1/3 cup vegetable oil
1 teaspoon salt, or to taste
1 teaspoon ground black pepper, or to taste
1 head cabbage, cored and sliced
1 white onion, chopped
1 pinch white sugar
DIRECTIONS
Place the bacon and vegetable oil into a large pot over medium heat. Season with salt and pepper. Cook for about 5 minutes, or until bacon is crisp. Add cabbage, onion, and sugar to the pot; cook and stir continuously for 5 minutes, until tender.

I don't know if this is the recipe you're looking for, but it is sweet and sour:

1 Tablespoon oil
1 bag sauerkraut
1 head cabbage, shredded
1 small onion, finely chopped
2 cloves garlic, finely chopped
2 teaspoons sugar
salt & pepper to taste

In a large pan (I use a chicken fryer b/c it has deep sides) heat your oil (I use olive oil.) Once the oil is heated add all the ingredients through the garlic. Stir together until cabbage is wilted. Sprinkle sugar & stir. Turn down heat to low & let cook until all flavors are mingled and the cabbage is cooked (I usually cook mine for at least 1 hour -- usually 2.) Add salt & pepper to taste.

Tastes good on it's own hot or cold. Also makes a good stuffing for padushki or pierogi.

I love fried cabbage, this is how I make mine. Quarter and
pull apart cab age leaves and boil in water until tender. Drain
off water and brown in butter or margarine. Use whatever
seasonings you like, salt, pepper, garlic or at the end I am
sure you could add a little sweet n sour sauce for the taste
you are looking for.

I do a lot of home canning for fun and cabbage is one of the
things I can.

Here are some recipes you can try looking at:

I myself fry mine in some butter (or bacon), a little chopped onion, garlic, and then add a little backstrap molasses and a touch of cider vinegar.

Good luck, hope I helped!

this is the recipe i use.

Stir-Fried Sweet and Sour red Cabbage
4 servings

INGREDIENTS
1/2 Head red cabbage
1 ts salt
1 1/2 TB sunflower oil
2 TB sherry vinegar or red wine vinegar
1 TB water
1 TB caster sugar
15 g pine kernels
25 g raisins
freshly ground black pepper

DIRECTIONS
Cut the central stalk out of the cabbage, then shred thinly. Spread out in a colander, and sprinkle salt. Turn, then leave to drain for 30 min. Rinse under the cold tap and pat dry with paper towel. Mix the vinegar with the water and sugar.

Heat the oil in a wok or large frying pan until very hot. Keep the heat high throughout. Add the cabbage, and stir and toss for three min. Add the pine kernels and continue to stir fry for 2 min. Stir the vinegar mixture, and pour into cabbage. Add the raisins and plenty of pepper. Stir fry for 1-2 min. longer until the liquid has evaporated and serve.

Sweet and Sour Cabbage

INGREDIENTS:

* 1 pound Napa cabbage (Peking cabbage)
* 1 red bell pepper
* 5 teaspoons white wine vinegar
* 1 1/2 teaspoons light soy sauce
* 1 teaspoon Chinese rice wine or dry sherry
* 4 1/2 teaspoons granulated sugar
* 1/2 teaspoon hot chili oil, or to taste, optional
* 2 tablespoons vegetable or peanut oil, for stir-frying
* 2 tablespoons finely chopped ginger
* Pinch of salt, optional

PREPARATION:
Directions for Sweet and Sour Cabbage:
1. Remove the leaves from the Chinese cabbage, discard any wilted leaves or ones with browned spots. Lay several of the leaves on top of one another, and cut crosswise into thin strips.
2.Remove the stem from the bell pepper. Cut the bell pepper in half and remove the seeds and white pith from the middle. Cut the bell pepper lengthwise into thin strips.
3. In a small bowl, combine the white wine vinegar, rice wine or dry sherry, soy sauce, sugar and hot chili oil. Set aside.
4. Heat the wok and add oil. When the oil is hot, add the chopped ginger. Stir-fry for about 10 seconds, until the ginger just starts to become aromatic. Add the cabbage. Stir-fry for a minute, then add the red bell pepper. Stir-fry for another minute, or until the cabbage is tender but still crisp. Add a pinch of salt to the cabbage during stir-frying if desired.
5. Give the sauce a quick re-stir and swirl it into the wok. Cook, stirring to mix everything together. Serve immediately.
