What's that chili sauce that's at just about every Chinese restaurant?!
I know this description is EXTREMELY vague - but if anyone has any guesses as to what it is, I'd be grateful. Thanks.

Sambal. It is a spicy chili paste. It is not watery, if you buy it yourself, like I do. They water it down in restaurants, either to save money, or to make it more enjoyable to white americans who don't like such spicy food. I buy it myself at local supermarkets, (albertsons, smiths) and never water it down. Great stuff. But then again, I go to Thai restaurants and tell them the food is not spicy enough!
It could be "Sriracha" sauce, which is a red hot sauce with a similar consistency to ketchup. You can buy it at most grocery stores in the ethnic food section. It comes in a fairly large clear plastic bottle with a green top.
Ah! After looking at your picture, I realize it is chili garlic sauce, from the same manufacturer as Sriracha sauce, you can buy it at the same places usually. It comes in a smaller plastic jar the same size as a mayo jar.
